Thérèse Palmisano: My husband and I have always signed with our children, starting at six months when they began to eat cereal. We signed "more", "all done", "drink" and then we were ready for "bath". We have three sons. The eldest & the second son are five and three, respectively. The baby is 15 months old. I am an elementary school second grade teacher. I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Lifetime Community College Teaching Credential in Early Childhood Education and have taught several classes at Ventura College.

John Palmisano: I am a teacher in middle school & I teach technology. I have taught many grade levels, including second, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders. I have always been interested in teaching our children a second language & teaching sign language was a natural approach. Our children love to sign & it was one of the first ways they communicated to us.
